AJ Montijo is a 2020 RHP/ with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Walton. Tall and lean frame, long limbs with room to fill, nice pitcher's build. Ran a 7.66 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher who only pitched at the event, begins delivery with a side rocker step up to a high leg lift, loose arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, projects for more velocity moving forward, creates some plane when down in the zone, front side leaks at times, lands closed as he comes down the mound, could work on repeating delivery more for improved command but still showed good command during this outing. Fastball topped out 85 mph and is mostly straight, heater did show some heaviness to it at times however, mixed in a developing curveball that he should work on throwing with the same arm speed as his fastball, showed projections on the mound and could see increased velocity with some minor adjustments, follow closely. Good student.
