Shaban Agayev is a 2016 SS/C with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Belton, MO who attends Belton HS. Short compact build with some present strength. Second base build and profile defensively, moves through the ball well with a quick exchange and release and a compact arm action, was athletic charging the ball. Also plays catcher, shows some quickness in his footwork and shifting, 2.09 best pop time. Right handed hitter, open stance with a leg lift trigger, short inside swing path, line drive approach, best contact to the mid and opposite field, made consistent contact when not expanding the zone. Also pitched, simple hand drop delivery with good direction and pace, mid-70's fastball with occasional sink, mixes his pitches 50/50 with a sweeping curveball that he shows good feel for, was effective. Good student.
