Joseph Bagley is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 5-11 151 lb. frame from Altoona, IA who attends Southeast Polk HS. Medium frame, athletic build, plenty of room to add additional muscle as he continues to grow and mature. From the mound, throws from a 3/4 arm slot with long arm actions. Fastball has some occasional arm side run. Moves fastball in and out solid, pitches to contact. Smooth tempo and actions through delivery, easy effort release. Curveball showed at its best when starting at hitter’s belt, good depth, froze hitters. Starts closed in stretch and drives to 3rd base side of plate remaining closed off, across body at times. From first base, solid footwork, good direction through the baseball, made accurate throws with carry. At the plate, starts with a slightly closed stance. Small weight shift load, showed bat speed through the zone. Outstanding student.
