Yadiel Ortiz is a 2017 2B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Patillas, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Strong build, especially in the lower half. 7.23 runner, over the top release, has good hands and showed he could make the barehanded play, best position may be third base. Right handed hitter, straight spread stance, short and direct swing, gets his foot down earlyand is well timed, can use his strong lower half better to generate bat speed, swung the bat well in games and got multiple solid hits to the pull side and up the middle.
