Seth Williams is a 2020 SS/2B/3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Paintsville, KY who attends Paintsville HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a strong, mature build with strength proportioned nicely throughout. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and stays wide with base, high energy actions with a quick transfer and release, athleticism and quick-twitch to actions, moves well on feet, nice arm strength on throws across the diamond and shows smoothness to hands. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Gets closed moving into contact with a simple trunk turn in swing; hits the ball out front and shows ability to create lift and back spin off the barrel when squared. Upper body dominant swing with a pull approach, finds the barrel well and swings with intent, compact and repeatable mechanics. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Louisville.
