Zachary Smith is a 2017 C/RHP, OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Rochester, MN who attends John Marshall HS. Medium frame, athletic build, room to add additional muscle as he continues to mature. From behind the plate, starts with a low base. Solid receiving skills, blocks well, clean transfer, strong throws down to second. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base. Swings on a line drive swing plane, opposite field approach, aggressive swings, good bat speed. On the mound, throws from a high 3/4 to over the top arm slot, long action. Gets good extension and out in front on delivery. 11/5 curveball shape, big break. Pounded the strike zone. Good student.
