2005 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
David Williamson is a 2006 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Columbus GA, who attends Russell County HS. He has a nice pitcher's frame and plenty of room to get stronger. Wililamson has a sound on line delivery and a standard 3/4's release point. He has good arm speed and a workable arm action with some effort. Williamson's fastball topped out at 89 mph with some late life. He threw two types of breaking balls, a 74 mph curveball with good 11/5 tilt and a harder 80 mph slider with the same type of action, only shorter. Williamson's release point on his curveball varies, which effects his command and the quality of the pitch. He also mixed in a couple of 71 mph change ups. Williamson is a bit on the raw side but he has a power arm and high ceiling talent. He has signed to attend Pensacola JC.
