David Baer is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Rancho Bernardo. Large, well-built frame with present athleticism as well as remaining projection. Hits from straight, upright stance with narrow base, steep hand path with solid bat speed, short hands to and through the zone. Made consistent contact to the middle of the field with feel to go the other way as well. Shows good arm strength in the OF, topping at 80 MPH on accurate throws, fields cleanly with defensive projection. Pitched as well, showing high 3/4 arm slot in online delivery with good balance throughout. Advanced command, showing ability to spot mid-70's FB all around the strike zone. FB topped at 77 with some cutting action at times. Showed CB with 11/5 shape and good spin, mixes and matches well and really knows how to pitch.
