Mason McWhorter is a 2016 OF/LHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends West Forsyth HS. Medium athletic build, good present strength. Left handed hitter, open stance with a high back elbow, big barrel wrap in back, big body movement to start swing, lots going on but he repeats well. Swings hard and creates some bat speed with strength at contact, balls come off the barrel well, showed the ability to drive the ball hard to the opposite field. 7.10 runner, arm works well in the outfield, will throw uphill at times, tools to continue to develop defensively. Also p itched, big leg raise/back turn delivery, high 3/4's arm slot for fastball, fastball topped at 82 mph, lowered slot to 3/4's for a big curveball with good spin. Threw strikes with both pitches. Good student.
