Austin Ashcraft is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from McKinney, TX who attends McKinney HS. Tall, strong left-hander with good athleticism. Ran a 7.00. Pitches from a high three-quarter arm slot and reaches 80 mph with his fastball. Flashes good running action. Has a feel for his changeup. Mixes in a sharp 11-5 curveball with good command at 67 mph. Pitches downhill. Bats right-handed, has a simple approach and opens his front side a little early. Gets good extension and flashes middle of the field lift. Good bat speed. Has a slinging throwing action from the outfield, arm strength is solid but still developing. Very good student. Named to the National Underclass Showcase Main Event Top Prospect Team.
