Brandon Copp is a 6'0" left handed 2005 pitcher from Aurora, IL, with a good arm and the chance to get better. He has some physical projection left and some mechanical things that he could do with his delivery that will add some velocity and quality to his pitches. Copp has a smooth, deliberate wind up and throws from a low ¾’s release point. He throws across his body and gets very little back side help going towards the plate, although his release point and cross body delivery do add deception while subtracting raw stuff. Copp’s fastball was 81-83 mph and he would both run it away from right handers and cut it in on their hands at different times. Copp’s change up was a quality pitch at times at 66-69 mph and he can continue to develop this pitch. His curveball was 63-65 mph and had some downer break to it with a hump in it from his low release point. Overall, Copp has enough arm strength and command of his pitches, with enough funkiness to develop into a very good LH pitcher at the college level.
