Drew Mendoza is a 2016 SS/RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Minneola, FL who attends Lake Minneola HS. Tall very athletic build, has present strength with more to come. Easy defensive actions, fluid and balanced from a wide base with soft hands out front, big arm strength with plus carry, likely to out grow shortstop but wait patiently for it to happen in case it doesn't. Left handed hitter, loose quick hands with a busy hand load, smooth swing with present bat speed and middle of the field lift, gets long at times, can get big carry off the barrel with little effort. Has the athleticism and actions to be an impact player when the strength and physical maturity start to kick in. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Florida State.
