Boomer Hudson is a 2006 RHP/3B from Woodward Academy in Douglasville, Georgia, with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame. He is a lean pitcher with a projectable body. On the mound he throws from a low 3/4 arm slot and solid arm speed. He throws across his body which helps produce run on his fastball that topped out at 77 mph. Hudson is quick to the plate and keeps the ball down in the zone causing many ground ball opportunities. He throws a tight slider with depth, but his out pitch is his split finger that he throws at 72 mph with tumbling action. Hudson challenges hitters and shows good control. Defensively he has nice footwork with good hands at third base. He is a right handed hitter with a line drive swing plane. Hudson loads his hands well and makes consistent contact at the plate. He is also a very good student.
