Jamal Devine is a 2015 OF/UT, RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Decatur, GA who attends Columbia. Large, athletic build with broad shoulders, a well proportioned frame and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 6.91 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and shows athletic actions, full arm circle with a live arm, longer release, accurate throws with carry to intended base. Similar arm action across the infield, gets on top of throws well and shows carry on throws, fields with a wide base and out front. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a long arm action in the back. Works exclusively from the stretch, hides the ball well, easy arm action and gets on top of fastball which topped at 77 mph, working low in the zone. Curveball shows 11-5 shape when on top. Right-handed hitter, starts with low hands and a spread lower half. Quick hands through swing and keeps them in, barred start, shows nice bat speed in line drive swing plane, gets the barrel to the ball and creates line drive contact. Very good student.
