Zach Elder is a 2013 OF/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Carver, MN who attends Chanhassen. Medium, athletic body with a lot of room to add strength with maturity. Ran a 7.27 60 yard. Athletic defensive actions, shows a strong arm and is consistently accurate, good footwork and only getting better. Right-handed hitter, hits from a wide base, low hand set, stays inside the ball well, line drive type swing and shows solid bat speed. Has some pop, makes consistent hard contact to the middle of the field, best moments at the plate were against live pitching. Also pitches, reaches 82 mph on the mound, pitches from a high arm slot and gets downhill. Velocity comes easy, fluid arm action. Flashes 11-5 sweeping CB, decent depth. Calm mound demeanor, two-way upside. Good student.
