2005 Sunshine West Showcase
Tom Chadwick is a 2006 C/1B/OF from Salpoint Catholic HS in Tucson, AZ, with a 6'0", 215 lb. frame. Chadwick has very good strength with broad shoulders and has a good catcher's body. Defensively he has solid pop times, but he throws from an almost side arm release point. However he still popped 2.09 with good accuracy. Chadwick moves well behind the plate and does a good job blocking balls. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with good bat speed from an average base. There is strength in his swing with present raw power, especially to the pull side. The ball jumps off his bat, and he had several hard hit balls during the showcase games. Chadwick is also a good student.
