Staffeld is a 6-5, 185 lb left handed pitcher from Florida with a very nice pitcher’s body that’s still projectable. Staffeld worked his fastball in the 78-80 mph range and topped out at 82 mph while spotting the pitch well on the outside half of the plate. He also threw a 62-64 mph curveball and low 70’s change up. Staffeld’s major challenge to improve his stuff will be to refine his pitching mechanics. His delivery lacks fluidness right now and he opens up his front side early, costing himself leverage and direction to the plate. As a 6-5 southpaw with some present velocity and pitchability, he should get a chance to pitch at a high level..Keep an eye out for this tall lefty.
