Barry Keiffer is a 6'4/170 2005 left handed pitcher from Midland, TX. Keiffer has a very tall and lanky frame. His delivery isn’t especially well balanced, and he has a short front side that opens early, but he works through it well and has a clean, smooth arm action. Keiffer was able to throw good strikes to spots with both his pitches. His fastball was 82-85 mph with some tailing life and he threw a low 70s curveball that had a short and sharp slider type of break. Keiffer could probably work on developing two separate breaking balls. The thing that impressed us the most about this slender southpaw was that he got out front on his pitches very well with nice extension. We think that Keiffer has some undeveloped physical talent that could come out in a big way with more strength and maturity. Keep an eye on him because he is a true sleeper. Reports are he's been in the upper 80s. Of course he's good right now, but the sky is the limit. Barry is a good student.
