Zack Layne is a 2013 3B/P with a 6'2'', 145 lb. frame from Cary, NC who attends Cary Academy. Lean athletic build, lots of time to fill out and add strength, shows good bat speed for age, consistent hard contact, line-drive approach, good balance and extension, has an idea at the plate, runs well for his age, 7.36 sixty, short arm action in the field, solid actions to the ball, feet work, around the plate on the mound, efficient with pitches, has a chance to be a quality bat down the road.
