2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Kyle Hallett is a 2005 catcher from Orland Park, Illinois, with a 5'10", 175 lb. frame. Hallett showed average actions behind the plate with solid pop times around 2.08. At the plate he hits from a stable stance with good balance. He uses a rotational type swing with a short and compact bat path. Hallett uses the entire field, and has a great feel for the strike zone and doesn't chase any pitches. All of these skills enabled Hallett to go 5 for 7 during his two showcase games, with hard line drives. Hallett should be a real nice college catcher with some definite offensive skills. Kyle is a very good student.
