Chase DeJong is a 2012 RHP/OF with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Long Beach, CA who attends Woodrow Wilson HS. Tall lean athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Simple turn and throw delivery, long deep arm circle, over the top release, resembles Adam Wainright in his mechanics and arm action. Fastball to 91 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm side run. Hard curveball spin with sharp downer bite, nice feel for change up with proper arm speed. Has an idea how to mix it up and throws strikes, projects well. Athletic actions in the outfield, 7.09 runner, on line accurate throws. Left handed hitter, open stance, looks to pull and lift, has some bat speed and pop. Nice combination of tools, skills and projectability. Good student.
