2004 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
Tasman is a 2005 C from Huntington, NY with a big, mature 6'2"/190 pound body. He's got good speed as he ran a 6.89 60 in workouts. He's a great athlete with impressive feet that translates into a 1.97 pop time topping out at 75 mph from behind the plate. His arm angle is at a low 3/4 but he has a very smooth transfer and a quick release. He has above average blocking skills and he receives the ball well. Offensively, he hits from a wide stance with quick hands that produces above average bat speed. He makes consistent solid contact and shows the potential for big time power. He has a great body, and he is an excellent athlete. Jonathan is a very good student.
