Al Holguin is a 2021 1B/LHP with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends St. Rita Of Cascia. Big and strong mature build, very athletic look. Left handed hitter, has a strong and fluid swing with present bat speed and plus jump off the barrel, huge power potential when he's directional and on time, timing with front foot and front side direction not consistent yet but can improve with repetitions and coaching, has the physical tools to be an impact hitter. 7.21 runner, shows athleticism around the bag at first base, could no doubt play corner outfield as well. Also pitched, busy back turn delivery with a high leg tuck, will throw in hesitations and change of pace into his mechanics and is athletic enough to keep his arm on time. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, threw a big looping CB for strikes and showed feel for his change up, has two-way potential at the next level. Very interesting athlete who will keep improving as his skills grow. Good student. Named to the Sunshine Showcase Top Prospect List.
