Nelson Rivera is a 2020 C/MIF with a 5-9 190 lb. frame from Toa Baja, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Strong and compact athletic build, pretty mature physically. Has advanced skills and tools defensively, very good arm strength with a quick release and makes accurate throws, threw out multiple base runners in the games, showed energy and skills blocking pitches. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a simple load and upper body rotational swing, shows quick hands getting the bat started, full swing, looking to pull and drive the ball, has the strength to get some jump on contact. 7.19 runner. Defense is his tool but has some ability at the plate as well. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
