Kj Moo-Young is a 2020 OF/RHP, MIF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Faith Lutheran. Athletic frame with wiry strength. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.84 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with clean, athletic footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Funnels off to side and looked to keep the ball low while releasing from a three-quarter slot. Throws produced accurate carry to the bag topping at 89 mph. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing active footwork while ranging to the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange quickly. Moves well to each side and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Displayed developing accuracy to the bag topping at 86 mph. Switch hitter with a crouched, slightly open stance and compact hand load. Primarily looked to utilize a line drive barrel plane, but displayed a quicker, more compact stroke from the left side of the plate. Also pitched utilizing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Created coil over back leg at gather and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball created some running action to arm side in the low to mid 70's, topped at 77 mph. Curveball had 10/5 shape with looser spin and some sweeping deep to glove side in the low 60's. Good student. Named to the 2019 West Academic Showcase, Top Prospect List.
