Eddy Jean is a 2018 RHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a present strength to frame, additional room to fill moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with high leg lift up past belt, gathers over the rubber but never gets fully tall on backside, lands slightly open with front foot but overall mechanics and delivery are simple and rather repeatable. Full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters arm slot, ball comes out of hand cleanly and shows quickness to arm action. Fastball topped out at 88 mph and maintained velocity well, overpowered hitters and missed barrels with pitch, consistent life to the pitch once a consistent release point was found. Shows plane to the bottom of the zone, maintains arm speed well on changeup with a similar arm action. Up to 78 mph with the pitch, nice fading life down in the zone and played off fastball well. Throws strikes with both pitches and still projects. Named to World Showcase Top Prospect List.
