Chace Chaplin is a 2023 3B/RHP, 1B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Apex, NC who attends Middle Creek. Medium frame with a physical type frame. Strong lower half and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.06 second sixty yard dash. Primary Third Baseman, does a good job of keeping the baseball in front of him as he gathers and shuffles into throws. Long arm action and proved to have some arm strength as he threw it 83 mph during drills. Flashed some lateral range as well during his round. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, starting with a side step to a higher leg lift. Stays online upon delivery and is repeatable with his actions. Long arm action and released from a higher three-quarter slot. Proved he could work both sides of the dish with the fastball as he ran i tup to 82 mph early. Curveball showing short shape with 11-to-5 break as he landed it for strikes. Secondary First Baseman, similar fielding actions on the opposite corner as he is confident with the glove. Fundamentally sound with his footwork and was accurate while turning two. Right-Handed Hitter, starting with weight on the back side and high hands. Low leg lift to stride as he lands balanced. Fires the hips and generates bat whip through the one. Proved he could leverage the baseball as he looked to pull it for power. Outstanding Student. Named to '23 All American Games Top Prospect List.
