Luke Baker is a 2020 LHP with a 6-6 205 lb. frame from Gainesville, FL who attends F. W. Buchholz. Extra long and lean build, lots of physical projection remaining. Compact and easy low effort delivery, lower half stays on line well, 3/4's arm slot, call comes out of his hand easily. Mid-80's fastball topped out at 87 mph, plenty more there as he physically matures, gets good running life. Showed very good feel for spinning the ball with the ability to add and subtract and change shapes while spotting the ball, has confidence in his breaking stuff and uses it with maturity. Gets nice sinking action on his change up. Good chance his stuff continues to gradually improve as he gets stronger and he already knows how to pitch. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Mississippi.
