John Rizzo is a 2021 RHP/SS with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from The Woodlands, TX who attends St. Thomas. Athletic build with long limbs and plenty of physical projection. Up tempo high energy delivery, varies delivery with different hesitations and actions, tall and fall mechanics to the plate, short and quick arm action, tends to land open with his front side on landing. Worked mostly in the upper 80's, topped out at 92 mph early, gets some sinking life when he can get the ball down in the zone. Primary fastball pitcher, showed a short soft slider and a developing change up. 6.65 runner at the PG Junior National Showcase, has plenty of raw athleticism that he needs to dedicate to becoming consistent with his delivery mechanics and ability to command his fastball on the mound. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas A&M. Named to the All-American Underclass Games Top Prospect List.
