P.J. Phillips is a tall lean athletic 6'2/170 SS from Stone Mountain, GA. P.J. is the younger brother of Indians infielder Brandon Phillips. He’s a thin elite athlete, but he can really generate bat head speed. If Phillips starts adding strength and smoothes out his infield actions, he could be a match for his talented brother or maybe better. He runs well and has a Big League SS arm. He has good quick hands and he projects off the charts. The tool that really sticks out is his amazing power potential. A player his size should not be able to hit easy tape measure long balls with a wood bat, but that is exactly what he does. It's a real easy looking swing that creates serious power bat speed and leverage. He is a highest level college prospect and maybe even more a highest level pro prospect. Scouts will follow him very closely. P.J. was selected to the AFLAC All American Team.
