2011 PG National Pre-Draft Showcase
Ryan Harris is a 2011 RHP/OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Jupiter, FL who attends Jupiter. Lean athletic build, some present strength, projects for even more. Showed excellent two way ability, slightly more advanced as a pitcher but very good hitting tools as well. Live arm, works quickly, long arm action, throws downhill well. Compliments his heavy fastball (up to 93) well with a plus slider that has good shape and sharp break with depth, showed good feel for the pitch. Changeup is still a work in progress but has improved. Lives on the outside corner effectively, will need to learn to pitch inside at next level. Good hitting tools at the plate, quick hands, low effort swing, has strength, takes his hands to the ball nicely, though his present hitting approach prevents him from hitting for as much power as he is capable of. Plus defender in the outfield as well. Very good prospect, good student, signed wtih Florida.
