Michael Modica: Modica is an athletic looking junior left hander from New Jersey with a slim, projectable 6-1 frame. He throws from an easy, well paced delivery from a standard ¾’s release point with an arm stroke that’s unusually long both front and back. Modica threw his fastball in the 82-84 mph range until he got a little tired late. His curveball varied anywhere from 68 to 74 mph and we liked it better at the higher velocities. Modica also mixed in a couple of nice change ups. He's good now and he might end up being extra special. At worst he'll be a high 80s lefty with three good pitches. At best he'll be a high draft pick. Michael is a very good student.
