John Barr is a 2007 OF/SS/P from Germantown Academy in Ivyland, Pennsylvania, with an athletic, lean 6'2"/175 pound frame. John was named to the Top Prospect Team. He showed good speed with a 7.00-60 yard in workouts. Barr gets good carry on his 82 mph throws from the outfield and has an accurate arm. He threw a runner out at the plate in game action. John has good actions at shortstop with great body control on the slow roller and a solid arm across the infield. As a right handed hitter, Barr hits from an upright stance with a short stride. He has a smooth swing with good hands and good raw power. On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with solid mechanics. His fastball has life at 81 mph and he throws an 11-5 breaking curveball at 67 mph. John has a projectable arm on the mound. Barr is also a good student.
