2022 Top Prospects

Adam Geller  SS - 2022 - La Canada, CA
Emory

Geller produced on both sides with a ton of upside in the overall profile. He posted 86 mph from the infield in drills, showing a strong arm across the diamond from different slots and a smooth transfer. He moves well for his physical 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame with more gains in store. On the mound, Geller reached 88 mph from a loose and easy delivery. He mixed spins and got downhill on his front side consistently in the release. His mid-70s curveball is a sharp offering that missed bats. At the plate, Geller showed quick hands on a linear approach with solid barrel speed and control through the zone. He impressed in many aspects and was one of the top in-game performers.


2023 Top Prospects

Nigel Buckley  C - 2023 - Los Angeles, CA
Uncommitted

Buckley was simply impressive and made his presence felt at the plate as he swung a hot stick over two days. He sent a towering solo blast to left-center and smoked an opposite field triple the next day. The bat speed is present in the swing, as Buckley keeps those loose hands in and gets extended. He lifted several extra-base hits in game and showed the ability to tap into power consistently. Defensively, Buckley is an athletic presence at catcher with a 1.93 pop time with a quick transfer into a strong throw that carries on a line. Buckley is an intriguing athletic profile with some juice in the bat. He performed very well over several games

Levi Jones  3B - 2023 - Portland, OR
Oregon State

Jones is a loud offensive performer who opened eyes over two days. The Oregon State commit brings some pop to his left-handed stick with more in store as he fills out his athletic frame. His swing carries good bat speed and length with projectable power at the next level. Jones topped 89 from the outfield and showcased quick feet and enough arm to reach the corners. It’s above-average arm strength with carry to all fields. The bat impressed in several aspect with Jones’ ability to manipulate the barrel. He was solid on both sides.

Gavin Taylor  C - 2023 - Tarzana, CA
Brigham Young

Taylor was a loud stick that opened eyes during batting practice and translated in-game. The Nevada commit strung together solid barrels to the gaps and impressed with his defensive game behind the dish. The physicality in the frame stands out with plenty of intent and loft in the path. His strong hands generate loud pull-side contact and showed some quality separation when squared . Defensively, Taylor showed some promising actions in his receiving along with a strong arm and 1.91 pop time. He put together a strong display and stood out on multiple occasions.

Amari Yolas  OF - 2023 - Los Angeles, CA
Cal State Northridge

Yolas is equipped with tons of athleticism and it oozes on both sides. He threw 91 mph from the outfield, 89 mph from the infield all while running a 6.45 sixty on the day. His strong arm and quick actions gives him a lot to build upon in the profile. His fastball topped out at 89 mph with a tight spun slider on the mound, as well. Yolas has some looseness in the hands at the plate that make solid contact. His tools and overall athleticism impacted games in several facets this weekend.

John Nolan  RHP - 2023 - Glendora, CA
Cal State Dominguez Hills

Nolan had a loud showing on the hill in his start. The right-hander has an intriguing three-pitch mix from a loose, whippy three-quarter delivery. He ran the fastball up to 89 mph and sat low-to-mid-80s with life out of the hand. He paired it with a solid curveball that had tight 11-5 break and depth, forcing several swings and misses. Nolan also flashed some feel for a subtle changeup in the high-70s with improved shape. The athleticism and arm speed in Nolan’s repertoire is hard to ignore, he fires his fastball and curveball to the plate with conviction. The upside in the profile is inturing as he continues to fill out at the next level. He’s a quality arm that can impact a program.

Joshua Khazaal  OF - 2023 - Prescott Valley, AZ
Arizona Christian

Khazaal is an athletic product who has a good amount of skills to build upon. He threw 85 mph from the outfield and 84 mph from the infield, moving well during both position drills. He charged well in the outfield and moved well to either side on the dirt. At the plate, Khazaal employs a compact right-handed swing with some strength in the hands. He can sit back on spin occasionally and shoot a hard liner back up the middle. He later hopped on the bump and dotted the outside corners with 83-84 mph.

Jarren Sanderson  3B - 2023 - Torrance, CA
Cal State Northridge

Sanderson’s size immediately stood out during drills and batting practice, and he didn’t disappoint by showing his physical tools. His 6-foot-6, 220-pound frame produces big pull-side juice, lacing a triple to the deepest part of the park in game. The strength and intent in his path produces backspin, and there’s more in store. Sanderson has a strong and accurate arm from the outfield and showed some flexibility at first base given his size. The bat was loud all weekend and impressed as a whole.

Carter Speights  RHP - 2023 - Irvine, CA
Uncommitted

Speights is another enticing two-way athlete that has a lot to dream upon in the frame. He threw 91 mph from the outfield with plenty of jump out of the hand and easy arm strength. That arm talent translates to the hill, where Speights sat 84-86 mph and topped 89 mph with plenty of arm-side run. The fastball runs in on righthies and makes for an uncomfortable at-bat. He also flashed a low-70s slider with some downer 8-4 break and a quality changeup. At the plate, Speights employs a quick and direct path with several hard liners to all fields. The athleticism and arm talent in the profile was impressive.

Jake Beauchaine  OF - 2023 - San Clemente, CA
Saddleback College

Beauchaine made noise on both sides with his enticing physical ability. He turned on velocity over two days, showing notable bat speed through the zone. His quick hands combined with his timing and strength to the pull side resulted in a triple to the left-center field gap off an 87 mph fastball and a rocket single off 85 mph his next at-bat. The physicality in the frame combined with the athleticism to roam center field stood out defensively with solid range and routes. He gets a good jump on fly balls and showed the ability to track. Beauchaine translated those physical tools in game and opened eyes with his prowess as a solid bat up the middle. He’s a highly touted uncommitted talent.

Cole Blumenthal  SS - 2023 - Redondo Beach, CA
Uncommitted

Blumenthal looks to be an intriguing two-way athlete with more physical gains in store. At a lean 5-11, 160 pounds, he already makes the most of his physical skill set up the middle and on the mound. Blumenthal has an easy right-handed swing with quick hands that stay on plane. He shifts his weight well in his balanced stance and showed the ability to turn on a few to the pull side during games. He moved well at shortstop with crisp lateral actions and several nice transfers on the dirt. Blumenthal also stood out on the bump, where he reached 84 mph and showed some feel for a tight slider and subtle changeup for whiffs. His crossfire delivery and ability on both sides brings a lot to like in the profile with more in store.

Ny'Zaiah Thompson  OF - 2023 - Mountain House, CA
Cal State Fullerton

Thompson is an athletic outfielder with tools at his disposal. His bounce and easy range in the outfield combined with a quality arm that produced more than enough carry. The Cal State Fullerton commit topped 87 mph from the outfield in drills and translated it to games. He employs a loose, twitchy right-handed swing that remains clean through contact. He strung together a few barrels during games and reached extra bags with his burst and quickness out of the box. Thompson’s athleticism stands out in every aspect of his game. He’s an enticing product that should only continue to physically develop.

Griffin DeRusso  C - 2023 - Palmetto, FL
Uncommitted

DeRusso showed some strength with the stick, as he generated some loud pull-side contact. The physicality and strength at the plate went from batting practice to in-game action, where he found a few loud barrels. DeRusso threw 85 from the outfield and was a swift mover behind the dish at catcher. The arm strength highlighted both positional drills with more in store as he physically matures. His presence on both sides was one of the highlights of the weekend.

Garrett Patterson  C - 2023 - Upland, CA
University of California, San Diego

Patterson has some feel behind the dish as a catching prospect. His drills were clean and crisp, showing above-average arm strength and a 1.90 pop time with a quicker transfer and soft hands. His defensive skill set showed up in game, as he made a few impressive blocks and wasn’t intimidated to gun down a runner. He moves well for his size and carries some untapped potential in the bat. He employs a simple, linear approach from the right side with barrel control. Patterson’s defensive ability and athleticism at a position of need was noteworthy in many aspects.

Max Senesac  C - 2023 - Costa Mesa, CA
Loyola Marymount

Senesac was an impact contributor over two days of action. He found a few loud barrels to the pull side in game with a lofty right-handed swing that produces backspin and carry. His batting practice round consisted of loud line drives, and that same swing showed up in game. Defensively, Senesac is a solid receiver that feels the game out. He picks his spots and has enough arm to test opposing runners. He was a fundamentally sound player throughout drills and games.

Ty Deperno  C - 2023 - Valencia, CA
Navy

Derperno’s athleticism really showed on the hill, as he filled up the zone with a promising three-pitch mix. The right-hander topped out at 87 mph and flashed a heavy splitter that came out of the hand real crisp. It faded against righties and took just enough off it to force whiffs. Derperon’s changeup has potential shape to it, as well. Deperno’s arm stands out behind the dish as a primary catcher, where he uses his thicker legs to his advantage. At the plate, Deperno ran into a few barrels and had some pop to all fields. His display on the field was awfully impressive.

Adam Arther  LHP - 2023 - Altadena, CA
Kansas State

Arther is an enticing left-handed pitcher who performed well on the mound. His fastball topped out at 82 mph and filled up the zone with a heavy dose of spin in a mid-70s slider and low-70s changeup. There are some moving parts in the delivery, but Arther’s athleticism keeps his body balanced and in-sync. He mixed tempos well and attacked hitters all day. Arther also showcased a strong arm at first base and used the entire field well at the plate. He showed up on both sides over the weekend.

Sean Suriyaniel  RHP - 2023 - Hacienda Heights, CA
Cal Poly-Pomona

Suriyaniel attacked the zone and forced some ugly whiffs on the mound. The right-hander is a talented arm with a projectable body. He mixed tempos and ran his heat up to 86 mph with slight arm-side run. The low-70s curveball and 80 mph changeup forced frequent jam shots and made hitters uncomfortable in the process. At his current size, Suriyaniel works quick and occasionally gets down the hill from a looser high three-quarter slot. His 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame offers plenty of gains at the next level with the ability to couple heat and spin. Suriyaniel opened eyes on the mound and moved well on the dirt defensively. The athleticism and projection really stood out.

Ashton Kanegae  3B - 2023 - Tustin, CA
Uncommitted

Kanegae was another loud arm on the hill that ran through the opposing team’s order. The right-hander ran heat up to 82-86 mph from a quick, lower release point. His fastball forced some swing-and-miss action up in the zone. He also flashed some feel for a mid-70s changeup and slurvy breaking ball. Kanegae’s arm projects well as a potential corner infielder with enough lateral actions to make up for it. His swing is short and direct from the right side with some strength at contact. Kanegae’s talent as an arm continues to impress.

Elias Oster  RHP - 2023 - Seattle, WA

Oster garnered plenty of attention in his start on the mound, pumping 83-84 mph and topping 86 mph with a quality slider. The right-hander works up and down and gets out front on a stable lead leg. He hides the ball well from an over-the-top release point and creates some deception out of the hand. Oster is a lean 6-foot-5, 180 pounds and projects well going forward. The body and present arm talent on the hill gives his overall profile a solid boost. He performed well and impressed along the way.


2024 Top Prospects

Andrew Carter  RHP - 2024 - Rancho Cucamonga, CA
TCU

Carter was a loud performer in drills and games with present tools at his disposal. He’s a sound defender in the outfield with a solid charge and enough arm strength that carries on a line. It’s accurate and on time consistently. Carter brings a lot to like in the swing with loose and fluid hands that work to all fields. His lower half shifts weight well and remains on time with the rest of his swing. It paid dividends in games, as Carter laced a pair of doubles to the opposite field gap. The ball jumped off the barrel and stood out over the weekend.

Henry McDonald  C - 2024 - South Pasadena, CA
Cal Poly

McDonald has a big 6-foot-2, 186-pound frame packed with strength and size. He’s a physical presence behind the dish that moved awfully well in drills, showing a 1.90 pop time with good arm strength and zip out of the hand. His arm carried to infield drills where he topped 87 mph with hard throws on a line. He also topped 85 mph on the bump. At the plate, McDonald produces backspin and carry with plenty of strength in the hands. He drove the ball to the pull side in game and showed the strength in the path to do so. McDonald is an intriguing profile with plenty of physical tools in his class with more room to fill out at the next level.

Adrian Hernandez  RHP - 2024 - Whittier, CA

Hernandez is another physical two-way presence that impressed over two days. He showed good range and motions in the outfield along with an 84 mph velocity from the outfield in drills. That arm strength showed on the bump, as Hernandez missed bats with a mid-80s fastball and had some feel to spin a tight breaking ball in the mid-70s. Hernandez’s strength is a big facet of his game, and his impact in the outfield or on the mound stood out. His swing has notable strength to all fields when he’s on time and squared. He showed his do-it-all ability over two days.

Jake Hultz  SS - 2024 - Manhattan Beach, CA

Hultz is a rangy defender with feel for the barrel. His arm strength and lateral quickness at shortstop showed up in game, ranging to his left to make an awfully nice play deep in the hole. Hultz showcased those tools in drills, throwing 83 mph from the infield and outfield with clean actions. At the plate, Hultz packs some strength in a smooth and simple right-handed swing. He stays under control through contact but has quick hands to turn on mistakes in the zone. Hultz performed at a high level.

Josiah Palomino  MIF - 2024 - Riverside, CA
Nevada

Palomino put together some solid cuts during batting practice that flashed during games. His quick hands stay inside and produce solid contact to all fields. It’s a simple path with more room to gain additional strength. Defensively, Palomino threw out a runner at second base and had more than enough arm to make it there. He posted a 1.96 pop time with the athleticism and smooth transfer that translated in games. Palomino was a sound performer at and behind the dish for the class.

Peter Caldera  RHP - 2024 - Roseville, CA
Sacramento State

Caldera showcased his two-way athleticism, making an impact on both sides. He has a quicker transfer and charge with above-average arm strength for his age in the outfield. The right-hander has some upside on the mound too with a mid-80s fastball that topped 85 mph with some arm-side run to it. He worked the bottom of the zone with a low-70s slider that had some tight 8-4 spin. Caldera has room to fill out as he physically matures, but his presence and patience in the box was also something of note. He worked counts and uses the entire field well in his approach. Caldera is another enticing two-way prospect who stood out this weekend.

Max Fetah  1B - 2024 - Laguna Niguel, CA

Fetah is a big 6-foot-6, 210 pounds that stands out for his size at the age. He’s a physical presence in the box, but keeps it simple and under control. Showed some strength and carry to the pull side while flashing solid feel for the barrel. Defensively, Fetah has a strong arm capable of handling first base duties. He made noise with the stick over two days and projects for even more power going forward.

Donnie Morgan  OF - 2024 - Pasadena, CA

Morgan was a loud bat and overall performer for his age class. The intent and strength in the path is evident as it jumps to the pull side at points. He showed the potential to drive it in the air with authority. Defensively, Morgan has a strong arm from the outfield and first base. Morgan’s frame has a lot more in store, and he’s a fun watch to physically develop.

Elliot Oster  OF - 2024 - Seattle, WA

Oster showcased clean movements in the outfield with arm strength and carry. He topped 85 mph in drills and translated it to in-game action. His right-handed swing stays inside and has a good path with a clean finish. Oster showed no problem getting out in front at driving the ball with authority at times. His feel for the barrel combined with his strong arm and athletic movements defensively were standout tools in his profile. He was a solid performer at his age group this weekend.

Jarett Sabol  C - 2025 - Orange, CA
Southern California

Sabol is a physical 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete that impacts the game in multiple facets. He generates plenty of lift with big strength and quickness to the path. Sabol put that on display as he stung several liners to the pull side with intent. He shows some feel for the barrel when his lower half is on time and in-sync. Defensively, Sabol showcased a strong arm at catcher and both corner outfield spots. He receives well and has some softer hands for a quicker, easier transfer behind the dish. The athleticism in such a physical frame stands out along with his offensive upside. Sabol performed well on both sides and has a lot to build upon going forward.

Ryan Oh  OF - 2025 - Stevenson Ranch, CA
Loyola Marymount

Oh was a sound performer for his age group and showed some tools that can project well at the next level. His right-handed swing is packed with bat speed and stays through the middle of the field. He creates solid backspin for his age and already showed some strength at contact during game action. Oh’s athleticism showed up defensively with solid arm strength and accurate throws from the outfield. He later jumped on the hill and topped out at 80 mph from a difficult angle and flashed a pair of curveballs and changeups with distinct shape. Oh brings a lot to like in all three phases, and he should only improve as he matures physically.

Ashton Arroyo  RHP - 2025 - Huntington Beach, CA

Arroyo’s talent showed up on both sides on the mound and at the plate. The right-hander reached 81 mph while displaying a four-pitch mix and feel for a solid 11-5 breaking ball. His slider has some horizontal bite to it for whiffs. At his age, Arroyo packs a good amount of contact at the plate with good intent and strength in the hands. He has some carry to the pull side with good amounts of projection going forward. Arroyo performed well at the age and his diverse skill set opened eyes.

Jordan Marian  SS - 2025 - Foothill Ranch, CA
UC Santa Barbara

Marian displayed good body control and swift actions up the middle. His glovework and arm strength in the infield showcased his feel for the leather defensively. He has athletic traits in a bigger 6-foot, 175-pound frame. Marian’s left-handed swing is equipped with quick hands and subtle whip through the zone. He gets extended and stays on time at the plate and it shows. Marian is a physical profile with upside at the plate who moves really well on the dirt.

Jack Zerkel  OF - 2025 - Tustin, CA

Zerkel was a standout performer in drills and eventually brought his tools to life during game action. He threw 88 mph from the outfield with a solid gather and quick release that produced above-average arm strength. The arm and feet remain in-sync in the delivery. Zerkel brings a good amount of quickness in his bat for the age, it’s notable bat speed with the ability to stay on plane and produce drives up the middle. His barrel control at the plate stood out. Zerkel is an athletic profile that offers plenty of upside and impact anywhere in the lineup.
