2020 Top Prospects

Alex Freeland  SS - 2020 - Cape Coral, FL
University of Central Florida

A veteran of PG events, the PG All-American and UCF signee once again put his full array of tools on display. Freeland, a switch-hitter, shows high level offensive tools from both sides with a loud bat speed/strength combo on top of pure and easy defensive actions up the middle.

Sterlin Thompson  SS - 2020 - Ocala, FL
Florida

Thompson really came on in the fall and established himself on draft radars, and continues to do so. The swing is loose and whippy with lots of bat speed and power projection, and he's a quality athlete with a 90 mph arm from the IF as well.

Harold Coll  SS - 2020 - Hyde Park, GA
University of Houston/San Jacinto CC

Coll's loud toolset has taken another step forward and his name is squarely on draft radars, run-and-gunning 97 mph across the infield during drills and showing the bat speed and strength necessary to hit for huge power both in batting practice as well as in game at-bats in this event.

CJ Kayfus  OF - 2020 - Wellington, FL
Miami

Kayfus has shown to have one the better pure hit tools in the class and continued to put a loose, easy swing on display in this event, peppering balls to all fields. He's also got the athleticism and arm strength to potentially play center field at the next level.

Brock Wilken  3B - 2020 - Valrico, FL
Wake Forest

Wilken's offensive game is extremely loud, showing off plus bat speed and raw power, hammering balls out to the pull side consistently with lots of jump off the barrel. He's also got quality arm strength and corner infield defensive actions.

Wyatt Langford  3B - 2020 - Trenton, FL
Florida

Langford has always been a tremendous hitter and continued that at the World Showcase, with thunder in his hands and consistent hard, driven barrel to all fields.

Keenan Taylor  3B - 2020 - Westfield, IN
Purdue

Taylor's offensive strength showed up in a big way in this event, showing impact bat speed and physical strength that manifested in the form of very good raw power, as he consistently drove the ball in a huge way pull-side.

John Montes  SS - 2020 - Toa Alta, PR
University of Central Florida

Montes' athleticism and defensive abilities have always stood out, and continued to do so in this event, running a 6.52 60 and taking one of the more smooth, professional infield rounds that you'll see along with an 88 mph arm.

John Marant  OF - 2020 - Tyrone, GA
Georgia

Marant has an excellent size/athleticism combo at 6-5/205 with a 6.80 60 to go along with a 91 mph OF arm and prodigious lefthanded raw power, hitting a mammoth bomb in game to prove it.

Jovan Gill  RHP - 2020 - Fort Myers, FL
Stetson

While he didn't pitch in this event, the Stetson signee still made sure to make an impression with his lefthanded stroke. He consistently found the barrel and showed an easy swing with a simple operation and big carry off of the barrel.

Trippe Moore  OF - 2020 - Forsyth, GA
Georgia/Georgia Highlands

Moore has lots of strength and athleticism to his profile, clocking a 6.75 second 60, throwing 93 mph from the outfield with excellent carry, and showing off quality strength at the plate with good extra-base ability to all fields.

Adrian Figueroa  1B - 2020 - Miami, FL
Florida International

Figueroa has been on the radar for some time, and really took a big step forward in this event, showing off a newfound offensive approach that him driving balls with impact and carry to all fields, highlighted by serious raw pop to the pull side.

Drew Brutcher  RHP - 2020 - Lakeland, FL
South Florida

Brutcher has a very well-rounded game, working 88-91 mph on the mound, running the 60 in 6.72 seconds, and showing off that arm strength from the outfield as well with 92 mph bullets on his throws.

Sammy Bathermy  RHP - 2020 - Boynton Beach, FL
Uncommitted

Nova dominated in his time on the mound, striking out most of the hitters he faced through 4 innings. He worked 83-86 mph with good ride through the zone and missed bats consistently with a sharp, deep 12/6 curveball.

Gage Boehm  RHP - 2020 - Taylor, TX
Texas/San Jacinto CC

Boehm's physicality and strength stand out immediately, as he consistently hammers baseballs to all fields with very good jump off the barrel, and also got onto the mound and ran his fastball up to 88 mph with tremendous, bowling ball-like sinking action on the pitch.

Drew Cavanaugh  C - 2020 - Rochester Hills, MI
Eastern Florida State

Cavanaugh made a loud impression with his defensive abilities from his overall flexibility to his catch-and-throw skills, emphasized by a plus transfer. He's also a switch-hitter who showed a handle from both sides of the plate with a short, quick path.

Luis Espinal  3B - 2020 - Miami, FL
Miami

Espinal showed off loud offensive tools in this one, really driving the ball in BP with excellent carry and overall power then continuing that in game play, in addition throwing 93 mph across the infield.

Antonio Gleaton  OF - 2020 - Atlanta, GA
The Citadel

Gleaton put his loud athleticism on display right away, clocking a scorching 6.40 second 60 yard dash time. He also showed intriguing strength from the left side of the plate and showed quality defensive actions in the outfield.

Albert Hernandez  OF - 2020 - Davie, FL
South Florida

A USF signee, Hernandez put his two-way potential on display though it was during his time on the mound that he made the loudest impression. Running his fastball up to 91 mph, Hernandez did a nice job of generating plane to his heater while mixing in a tight upper-70s slider which he threw with confidence and success.

Brody Hopkins  OF - 2020 - Summerville, SC
College of Charleston

Hopkins has an excellent toolset overall, with a 6.68 second 60 yard dash coming from a 6-4/185 frame, and he also threw 88 mph from the outfield, ran his fastball up to 89 mph on the mound, and showed good bat speed with extra base pop at the plate.

Abimelec Ortiz  OF - 2020 - Vega Baja, PR
Florida Southwestern State College

Ortiz has several loud tools at his disposal, with good strength physically as well. He ran a 6.91 second 60 yard dash, threw 92 mph from the outfield, and showed the ability to get the barrel out and drive the baseball consistently as well.

Jonathan Ramallo  OF - 2020 - Miami, FL
Florida Southwestern State College

Ramallo's loud arm strength stood out in a big way, clocking up to 95 mph from the outfield and then getting on the mound and working up to 88 mph with very good life. There's bat speed and strength to his offensive profile as well.

Zac Rice  OF - 2020 - Fort Mitchell, AL
Chipola College

Committed to Chipola, Zac Rice is full of fast-twitch muscle and he quickly put it on display with a blazing 6.21 in the 60-yard. He shows a quick arm with big carry and arm strength on his throws from the outfield and also put a quick stroke from the right side on display.

Elvis Rumaldo  OF - 2020 - Canovanas, PR
Wabash Valley College

Rumaldo's athleticism took center stage right away, burning up the turf en route to a 6.44 second 60 yard dash time. He shows that athleticism in the outfield as well, in addition to quality arm strength, which was clocked as high as 89 mph.


2021 Top Prospects

Bryan Loriga  3B - 2021 - Hialeah, FL
Florida International

Loriga's skill with the bat has long been on display and the FIU commit continued to make a loud impression. Strongly built, Loriga shows an easy stroke from the right side with which he's able to generate easy juice to his pull side, showing lift to his path and big extension. His arm strength across the diamond (89 mph) also stood out.

Victor Rodriguez  OF - 2021 - Winter Springs, FL
Florida International

Unknown coming in, Rodriguez was exceptional in this event, showing off his athleticism with a 6.89 60, really clean actions in the outfield with a 95 mph arm, and some of the easiest bat speed and raw power you're likely to see. A very loud performance overall.

Chase Jans  OF - 2021 - Overland Park, KS
Kansas

Jans first showcased an extremely loud run tool, clocking a 6.42 second 60 yard dash time. He's got legitimate offensive impact as well, showing off a very accurate barrel with impact power and lots of upside overall given those tools.

Justin Colon  SS - 2021 - Clermont, FL
Missouri

Colon Jaime's defensive abilities in the middle infield stand out in a big way, light on his feet with good hands and range and an absolute howitzer of a right arm, clocked up to 93 mph across the diamond with true carry and real zip.

Gilberto Torres  OF - 2021 - San Lorenzo, PR
Ranger College

Torres had loud tools on display all weekend, clocking a 6.70 60 yard dash, throwing 92 mph from the OF, 90 mph across the infield, and showing off whippy bat speed as well.


Free Agents Top Prospects

Manuel Beltre  SS - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, SD DOM
Florida International

A two-time PG Select Festival alum, Beltre continues to up his performances and this showing was no different. His talents with the glove stand out with an excellent transfer/release though his offensive performance was just as exciting with consistent line drive contact to all parts of the field.
