3-White Highlights

5/15/2022

Cam Jantz (2025, OF, Gilbert, AZ) features a strong athletic build that holds a big presence on the field. His ability to play almost anywhere was impressive. Showed off his skills at third base, worked through the ball and showed off his arm. He consistently showed his raw pull side power, displayed a violent compact swing with great bat speed.

 

Hunter Backstrom (2023, OF, los Angeles, CA) his speed and athleticism shined, his ability to run was impressive. Backstrom made it look effortless. He smashed a triple in the left center gap. His speed gives him an advantage in the outfield, allowing him to get to balls that most cannot. He also showed off his arm, consistently making firm accurate throws.

 

Christopher Patterson (2024, 3B, Frisco, TX) continues to swing the bat well, smoked double in the left center gap. Displayed a short compact swing with great bat speed. His ability to hit the ball well to all fields was impressive. His athleticism showed on both sides of the ball all weekend.

 

Dylan Wolfe (2024, 2B, Scottsdale, AZ) swung the bat well, consistently squared the ball up. Displayed a level swing that stays long through the zone. Also made some nice plays in the infield.


2-Red Highlights

5/15/2022

Grant McMeekin (2025, C, Glendale, AZ) showed off his athleticism behind the dish, moved well, was quick, and consistently made firm accurate throws. Also swung the bat well, showed the ability to hit the ball well to both gaps.

 

Jack Meissner (2024, SS, Phoenix, AZ) showed the ability to make the routine plays in the middle infield. Moved well laterally, consistently displayed quick feet with soft hands and accurate throws. Also swung the bat well, crushed a double down the left field that that one hopped the fence.

 

Rummy Ramos Cruz (2022, SS, Davenport, FL) swing the bat well, smoked a homerun to left field that hit off the scoreboard. Displayed a short compact swing with good bat speed that stays long through the zone. Consistently drove the ball well middle in. Also made some good playing in the middle infield. Worked through the ball with smooth hands and a quick transition.

 

Jackson Ryan (2024, OF, Phoenix, AZ) showed off his speed on the bases and in the outfield. Was aggressive on the bases, always looking to take an extra base. His speed played well in the outfield allowing him to get to balls faster than most. Ryan moved well to both sides of the ball.

 

 


1-Columbia Blue Highlights

5/15/2022

Preston Armstrong (2025, C, Goodyear, AZ) continues to be solid behind the dish. His arm strength and ability to consistently make firm accurate throws was impressive. Showed off his athleticism behind the dish, was quick and commanded the pitchers well. Armstrong threw out by a mile a handful of runners who tried to steal on him.

 

Jake Catalfio (2025, OF, Scottsdale, AZ) showed off his speed on the bases and in the outfield. Catalfio smoked a ball in the left center gap for an inside the park homerun. Also showed off his cannon in the outfield. Worked through the ball with smooth hands and a quick transition.

 

Sebastian Frye (2025, C, Las Vegas, NV) displayed smooth hands with good footwork and a quick transition. Frye showed the ability to make the hard plays look easy. Also swung the bat well, displayed a short compact swing with good bat speed.

 

Lorenzo Bradley (2025, IF, Henderson, NV) swung the bat well, showed the ability to hit the ball well middle in. Showed off some pull side pop, crushed the ball to deep left field. Also made some nice plays in the infield, showed the ability to make the routine plays.

Batting Practice Highlights

5/15/2022

Jose Fernandez (2023, Avondale, AZ) put together an impressive round, using quick bat speed on a lofted path to drive the ball in the air with authority. The approach stayed through the middle of the field with power playing into both gaps. 


Cam Jantz (2025, Gilbert, AZ) showed the ability to use a strong frame well throughout batting practice, driving the ball with authority consistently. Quick bat speed combines with the strength to produce advanced pullside power. 


Kyle Frazier (2025, Scottsdale, AZ) displayed quality feel for the barrel throughout the round with an approach that allows for the entire field to be used. Quick bat speed on a lofted path generated hard hit line drives often.  


Sebastian Frye (2025, Las Vegas, NV) showed quick bat speed through the zone on a slight uppercut path. Quality feel for the barrel allowed balls to be hit with authority to all fields. 


Hunter Backstrom (2023, Los Angeles, CA) displayed quick bat speed on a linear path through the zone. The ball jumped off the bat when squared up, resulting in quality power to the pullside. 


Christian Garcia (2025, San Diego, CA) used a simple swing with quick bat speed to produce hard contact throughout the round. A strong frame generates solid power that plays mostly to the pullside. 


Jackson Marazzo (2025, Phoenix, AZ) utilized a simple swing on a linear path to produce frequent line drives throughout the round. Marazzo showed ability to drive the ball hard to the pullside using an approach geared that way. 


Nicholas Leigh (2023, San Tan Valley, AZ) displayed the ability to drive the ball in the air with authority. Quick bat speed on a lofted path drove the ball to all parts of the field during the round.


Christopher Patterson (2024, Frisco, TX) used a sound, line drive approach with feel for the barrel to produce frequently hard hit balls. A quality approach stayed through the middle of the field consistently. 


Brett McLuhan (2023, Anthem, AZ) used a linear path through the zone while showing solid feel for the barrel. McLuhan showed the ability to get the bat head out front and drive the ball hard to the pullside throughout the round. 


Grant McMeekin (2025, Glendale, AZ) showed decent feel for the barrel using a simple swing. Quick bat speed on a lofted path produced hard contact to the pullside regularly. 


Jack Meissner (2024, Phoenix, AZ) displayed a sound approach that stayed through the middle of the field consistently. An uppercut path and decent feel for the barrel allowed balls to be driven hard in the air. 


William Strand (2025, Surprise, AZ) swung with intent throughout the round, producing decent power to the pullside while a sound approach allowed for the entire field to be used. 


Jake Catalfio (2025, Scottsdale, AZ) showed a sound approach, staying through the middle during the round. A linear path with quick bat speed produced frequent line drives.


Brady Skinner (2025, Las Vegas, NV) displayed the ability to use the entire field well throughout the round. Quick bat speed on a lofted path produced a fair amount of barrels.


Jackson Ryan (2024, Phoenix, AZ) utilized a strong frame well in the box to produce hard contact to the pullside. A slight uppercut path allowed balls to be driven in the air throughout the round.

Cam Jantz (2025, OF, Gilbert, AZ) showed off raw pull side power, smoked a homerun to left field. Displayed a violent compact swing with great bat speed. Also made some nice plays in the outfield, showed the ability to make the routine plays. Features a lean athletic build that holds a big presence on the mound, the fastball topped out at 83mph with slight arm side run.

 

Jackson Marazzo (2025, 1B, Phoenix, AZ) features a lean athletic build with room to add more as he gets older. Crushed the ball in the right center gap, displayed a quick level swing that stays long through the zone. Also made some nice plays at 1B, worked through the ball well, showed the ability to make the routine plays.

 

Christopher Patterson (2024, 3B, Frisco, TX) swung the bat well, consistently squared the ball up well to all fields. Smoked a ball to left field that one hopped the fence. Displayed a short compact swing with great bat speed. Also made some great plays, showed the ability to make the routine plays, moves well laterally to both sides of the ball working through the ball with smooth hands and a quick transition.

 

Aidan Sandvik (2023, LHP, Phoenix, AZ) was solid on the mound, threw 2.2 innings striking out 6 batters. The fastball sat 78-80 mph working best down in the zone generating a lot of swings and misses. Mixed in a slurve with tight spin and late break keeping a lot of hitters off balance. Also smoked a double in the gap, has a quick compact swing with good bat speed.

 


2-Red Highlights

5/14/2022

Jose Fernandez (2023, C, Avondale, AZ) energy was electric, he was very vocal and commanded his pitchers well. He was solid behind the dish, kept everything in front, showed off his mobility, and consistently made firm accurate throws. Fernandez showed the ability to throw from his feet and from his knees. Also hit the was well, smashed a triple a double and a few singles. Has a short compact swing with good bat speed.

 

Jack Meissner (2024, SS, Phoenix, AZ) showed the ability to hit the ball well the other way, crushed a triple down the left field line that one hopped the fence. Has a level swing that stays long through the zone with good bat speed. Also made some good plays at shortstop.

 

Ethan Miller (2024, OF, Queen Creek, AZ) showed off his speed on the bases, was aggressive and always looking to make thing happen every time he was on base. Stole a few bags and was safe by a mile. Also made some great plays in the outfield. His speed allowed him to track down balls in the gap, also consistently made the routine plays.

 

Christian Garcia (2025, RHP, San Diego, CA) showed off his power, smashed a triple displaying a violent compact swing with good bat speed. Also showed well on the mound, the fastball topped out at 81 mph with good arm side run. Threw a lot of strikes and attacked the hitters early, mixed in a tight spin late breaking slider late in his outing.

Preston Armstrong (2025, C, Goodyear, AZ) was solid behind the dish, kept everything in front and was very agile. Displayed a strong accurate arm with a smooth quick transition. Armstrong hosed a handful of runners who tried to steal on him.

 

Brylen Brown (2024, SS, Phoenix, AZ) showed off his athleticism at shortstop, moved well to both sides of the ball. Displayed smooth feet with a quick transition, showed the ability to make the routine plays and the hard plays look easy. Made a sweet on the run play, showing off his skills and arm strength.

 

Jake Catalfio (2025, OF, Scottsdale, AZ) showed off his speed on the bases and in the outfield. Catalfio made an awesome sliding catch on the leftfield line to keep a run from scoring. Moved well laterally to both sides of the ball and showed the ability to make the routine play. On the bases was aggressive, stole a few bases every time he got on.

 

Miguel Sandoval (2024, 1B, Las Vegas, NV) showed off raw pull side power, smashed a triple in the left center gap. Displayed a short compact swing with great bat speed. Also made some great plays at first base. Showed the ability to make the routine plays.
