7-Green vs 8-Maroon Game Highlights

5/22/2022

Jack Campbell (2025 RHP, Lighthouse Point, FL) was really good in his three innings of work with a fastball up to 81 mph that was in the zone consistently. The slider was the real weapon though showing solid bite through the hitting zone and helping to rack up four strikeouts. The slider showed above average spin for his age and tunnels well off of his fastball with consistent hand speed.

Jonathan Gonzalez (2023 SS, Miami, FL) ripped a double in his last at bat of the event to cap off a good showing at the plate with a display of his power to the pull side driving a ball to the wall in left. He later showed off some of his sub 7.00 speed advancing to third base and then scoring on a sac fly to shallow left field.

Alex Pereira (2022 C, Hialeah, FL) showed some of the more promising power in game of the entire event. In his last at bat he put a charge into a ball driving it deep to center field. He does a nice job of getting to a strong base giving him a good place to launch the swing from creating leverage at the point of contact a to drive the ball with back spin.

Michael Petite (2023 OF, Palm Bay, FL) came in a ran his fastball up to 92 mph while sitting 89-92 mph throughout the inning. He punched out all three batters he faced with some ride at the top of the zone with spin rates getting into the 2400 RPM range. He mixed in a slider as well as his primary off speed throwing it in the upper 70’s with spin rates in the 2600 RPM’s.

Walker Brockie (2023 2B, Grand Rapids, MI) had three hits on the weekend including two in game two on Sunday with one of those going for a double. Both of his hits came to right field with good contact on the inner half of the baseball as the bat path stays short an compact to contact with good extension though the hitting zone.

Cord Gerdes (2024 OF, St Petersburg, FL) went 2-for-2 in the finale with an RBI. His shows a long projectable right-handed swing with good barrel accuracy at this point from a compact swing path. At 6-foot-3 he has length to fill out moving forward with room to add more strength and power moving forward.

Joshua Landrove (2024 2B, Miami Lakes, FL) had two hits in the finale going 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored. His right-handed swing shows good barrel control as he gets to contact out front on time consistently. He does a nice job repeating the swing and sticking with his simple load and trigger that play well for him.

7-Green vs 12-Royal Highlights

5/22/2022

Walker Barron (2023 C, Atlanta, GA) has impressed with his very advanced and athletic defensive skills behind the plate but also stood out with the bat today, driving mid-plate fastball on one bounce over the right centerfield fence for a ground rule double.

Kros Matthews (2024 LHP, St Augustine, FL) had a nice day at the plate, as the left handed hitter (and pitcher) lined two hits to the opposite field, including a triple that rolled all the way to the wall.

Alex Pereira (2022 C, Hialeah, FL) has both strength and barrel control in his right handed swing.  He hit one ball deep to left field that was caught, but resisted the temptation his next time up to pull a pitch on the outside corner and instead lined it hard backside for a clean RBI single.

Jeovanni Hernandez (2023 OF, Coral Springs, FL) hit two balls about as hard as you can today, as the 6-2/180 right handed hitter jumped on two pitches for hard line drives to left field.  One was a clean single down the line, the other a direct line out to the left fielder.  If he'd been able to elevate either of them.....

Michael Miniotas (2023 C, Jacksonville, FL) had about the same day at the plate as his teammate Hernandez, picking up one clean single to left field and then almost undressing the shortstop on a scalded line drive out.

Brandon Gonzales (2025 RHP, Tampa, FL) has an outstanding young pitcher's body at 6-3/195 with a narrow upper half and plenty of lower half strength.  He worked in the 81-84 mph range consistently with a smooth and easy arm action that got out front well and projects big velocity gains as he gets stronger.  His fastball life and command were impressive, too.

Kustarr Webb (2024 1B, Jacksonville, FL) made a nice pick at first base to save his pitcher an out and also showed his potential behind the plate catching.  But the 6-1/215 slugger was more impressive at the plate, lining a single up the middle and crushing a triple far over the centerfielder's head.

8-Maroon vs 9-Orange Game Highlights

5/22/2022

Yail Nater (2024 OF, Kissimmee, FL) bounced back with an impressive at bat after getting down the line at 4.08 in his first at bat. The speed was once again on display his second time to the plate but this time in even more impressive fashion as he smoked a line drive into the leftfield corner and cruised into third base for a triple.

Jonathan Vega (2023 SS, Lawrence, MA) pulled the hands in and got the barrel to it, was able to get his hands to a slider barreling down on his hands and keep the ball fair for extra bases as he pulled into second base. He manipulated the barrel path a bit to get to the pitch down and in attacking the inner half of the ball which allowed him to keep it fair instead of hooking foul.

Wes Ryan (2025 1B, Treasure Island, FL) uses the length in his frame well with a smooth bat path to drive a ball to the wall in center field. He was able to catch the ball out front and create back spin as the barrel gets on plane early and stays through the ball with a strong punch at the point of contact.

Brian Cordero (2023 1B, Davie, FL) showed some good rhythm and timing to his left-handed swing with an ability to get the barrel to the baseball at a high rate. In his last at bat of the weekend he jumped a fastball driving out toward right center field for a hit to cap off a very productive offensive showing.

Paul Janeczko (2023 RHP, St Augustine, FL) was disgusting in his four innings on the mound with crazy amounts of horizontal run on his fastball. The fastball has so much movement at command can come and go but when he is locked in hitters have little chance to get the barrel to the baseball. He topped out at 86 mph and showed a slider in the 70’s as a quality secondary pitch.

4-Col. Blue vs 5-Gold Game Highlights

5/22/2022

Peter Frometa (2023 RHP, Coral Gables, FL) ran his fastball up to 87 mph generating some easy arm side run and keeping the ball off of the barrel. He showed a top to bottom breaking ball with good depth through the zone landing in the upper 60’s. He also mixed in a changeup as the outing went on showing an ability to kill the spin with RPM’s in the 1200’s and fading action to the arm side.

John Rodriguez (2025 RHP, Boca Raton, FL) showed a mature three pitch mix for a 2025 grad with good feel for his fastball, slider, changeup mix. The slider showed well above average spin for his age getting into the 2500 RPM’s with hard horizontal action. The fastball topped out at 82 mph with occasional arm side run while the changeup turned over nicely in the upper 70’s.

Alex Bruno (2023 SS, San Juan, PR) ripped a double on a inner half fastball getting his hands out front to catch up to 87 mph and tuck it just inside the leftfield line. He carried over his hitting to day two after a strong showing at the plate on day one as well.

Emmanuel Perez (2023 SS, Miami, FL) picked up two hits his first two times to the plate on day two. He followed up a single in his first at bat with a laced double to the pull side gap in his next at bat. It has been an impressive weekend a the plate for the young right-handed hitter as he seems to be on the barrel more often than not in batting practice as well as game action.

Adrian Padro (2023 SS, Caguas, PR) was electric with his fastball for his inning of work running the fastball up 89 mph and peppering the bottom half of the zone to the glove side, The fastball explodes out of his hand and shows good life at the top of the zone with spin rates in the 2300 RPM. He also mixed in a solid slider in the low 70’s. With the glove Pardo was able to flash some leather going in each direction to make ranging plays.

Jose Gonzalez (2023 SS, Corozal, PR) did a nice job of getting ahead of hitter with his upper 80’s fastball topping out at 89 mph with downhill plane to the bottom of the zone. The fastball down gave hitters fits creating some ugly swing and miss with routine tardy swings. He showed slider in the low 70’s as a complimentary pitch to the heater.

Yabriel Rivera (2024 2B, Orlando, FL) drove home the only run for the Gold Team with his line drive single into left field in his final at bat. He smoked a fastball belt high hard on a line through the 5-6 hole showcasing some of his bat speed and strength to drove the ball hard on a line.

9-Purple vs 10-Orange Game Highlights

5/22/2022

Nicholas Gioia (2023 C, Sanford, FL) went inside-out to knock a triple down the right field line. He showed good burst around the bases to hustle and end up on third base; he later added a double to the opposite field gap and a triple to the pull side.

Jackson Bellhorn (2024 RHP, Oviedo, FL) has a quick arm and an advanced pitch mix, working up to 86 mph and holding low-80s. He also doubled down the left field line.

Cooper Hinson (2024 OF, Valrico, FL) knocked in two singles on the afternoon. The swing is smooth with plenty of loft and he does a nice job at using the whole field.

Eli Thomas (2025 SS, Tampa, FL) had a pair of barreled up balls on the afternoon including one that got to the wall and put him on third base. He fires his lower half well and creates explosion through contact, it's a solid left-handed swing.

Jackson Thomas (2024 OF, Tampa, FL) had a handful of barrels on the afternoon and also showed some real impact speed. He stole second base and then tagged up to get to third on a shallow fly ball in centerfield; the tools are exciting.

10-Purple vs 11-Red Game Highlights

5/22/2022

Caden McDonald (2023 RHP, Tampa, FL) was excellent on the bump during his start, holding 86-89 and striking out 8 over four hitless innings. McDonald also showed off the power with an opposite field triple that one-hopped the right field wall.

Mitchell Britton (2023 RHP, Waterloo, ON) worked up to 88 mph with the fastball and showed good whip to the arm stroke. There's a strong pitch mix and Britton also hit a ground ball singel the other way during the game.

Brandon Diaz Valentin (2023 SS, Hollywood, FL) pulled his hands in and knocked a double down the left field line. There's good lift to the swing with quick hands as he hustled around first to end up at second.

Lucas Roberts (2023 RHP, Toronto, ON) fired four innings and was up to 87 mph showing a strong two pitch mix. The fastball showed good sink and run while the slider was firm in the 77-80 mph range with more lateral break.

Adam Stephenson (2021 OF, Mesquite, TX) is really athletic and registered two hits on the day. Stephenson showed off his speed too as he stole third a few pitches later.

Rich Petrosa (2024 C, Bradenton, FL) put forth a defensive highlight as he hosed a runner out at the plate from right field. Petrosa has a solid arm and fired a strike to save a run.

Marcos Carriere (2025 3B, Orlando, FL) notched two hits on the afternoon and showed good feel for the barrel. He knows how to use the whole field and does a nice job at getting out in front.

11-Red vs. 12 Royal Highlights

5/21/2022

(Rain Shortened Game)

Carter Gschwind (2023 RHP, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) has a big and strong 6-2/215 build and a fast arm from a high 3/4's arm slot that creates lots of downhill angle.  He worked 87-89 mph for the most part with his fastball without much effort to get to his velocity.  He needs more consistency on his curveball release but he generated tight spin and bite  on the pitch up up to 74-76 when he wasn't trying to overthrow it.

James Crews (2024 C, Winter Park, FL) showed a much better game approach than BP approach, attacking a fastball up in the zone and driving it deep over the left fielder's head for a triple.

Nicklaus Sakowski (2024 LHP, Naples, FL) is a primary left handed pitcher who worked a couple of innings in the mid-70's with a hard downer slider but his BP and game at-bats showed a higher potential as a left-handed hitter.  He lined a double up the LCF gap in one at bat and squared up a hard ground ball the next at-bat that the shortstop made a nice play on.

Benjamin Segura (2023 RHP, St Cloud, FL) has a loose athletic body and a cross body delivery that produced nice life on an 81-84 mph fastball.  His best pitch, though, was a deceptive 71-74 mph change up that he used often and with feel and confidence to set up hitters.

5-Gold vs. 6-Gray Game Highlights

5/21/2022

Jhenzel Figueroa (2023 SS, Manati, PR) ripped two hits in game including sending 91 mph back up the middle for a single. He also doubled into the opposite field gap and looked very hitterish.

Tehjari Wilson (2025 RHP, Nassau, NW) worked in the 82-85 mph range with the fastball and is a super projectable arm. The breaking ball has good shape and spin and the operation as a whole projects.

John Lopez (2023 C, Salinas, PR) was all over the place in this one, throwing out three baserunners and collecting two hits. Lopez is a plus athlete with excellent catch-and-throw skills that also hit a double down the pull side line.

Mel Rubiera (2023 OF, Miami, FL) had a knock and another barrel during the game, showing off the speed on an infield single. It's a simple operation and he also barreled a ball to the opposite field gap and has leadoff tools.

Emmanuel Perez (2023 SS, Miami, FL) collected two hits and showed a short stroke with feel for the barrel. He can turn the barrel over to the pull side and gets out in front well.

Cristopher Morales (2023 RHP, Kissimmee, FL) showed some explosive stuff, holding 88-91 mph and showing plus arm speed in the process. The slider is a weapon now in the low-80s and the arsenal has a really high ceiling.

Peter Frometa (2023 RHP, Coral Gables, FL) collected two hits and showed the ability to turn tightly over the inner half. The bat speed speaks for itself and he's also athletic in the box.

Joshua Krutchik (2024 LHP, Miami, FL) had two knocks himself and showed a balanced approach with a contact oriented stroke. He gets out in front and showed quick hands.

Michael J Vega (2023 C, Saint Just, PR) hit one of the furthest balls of the day with a ground rule double to straight away centerfield. He does a nice job at working from the ground up and also barreled another ball late to left field.

3-Black vs 4-Columbia Blue Game Highlights

5/21/2022

Lecter O Rivera Moran (2023 RHP, Las Piedras, PR) ran his fastball up to 86 mph in his four innings of work on the mound. He was able to find most of his success at the bottom of the zone where his heavier fastball induced weaker ground ball contact at a pretty high rate. He shows a long projectable build with plenty of room to add strength moving forward.

Eddie Del Valle (2023 LHP, Gurabo, PR) punched out four over his three innings of work as he employed a true three pitch mix working his sequences to hitters. The fastball topped out at 83 mph and set up the changeup with some turnover and a horizontal slider that gives him something to break away from left-handed hitters.

Ethan Farrell (2023 2B, St. Thomas, VI) helped get his squad back in the game with his two RBI triple to dead center field. As a switch hitter the power was on display from the right-side in this at bat as he went up against a big physical left-hander. He was able to get the bat head out front and drive the ball right back where it came from with authority.

Derek Gonzalez (2024 C, Juncos, PR) picked up his first hit of the game action with a roped triple down the line in left field. He showcased some of the power he put on display during batting practice as he was able to routinely get the ball in the air to the pull side with lift.

Yadier Soto (2024 OF, Guayanilla, PR) got himself a fastball to his liking in his third at bat of the game as he drove a double over the head of the left fielder one hopping it off the wall. He used the length in his limbs to create extension out front allowing him to hit from a position of leverage and elevate the ball with back spin.

Jhonathan Torres (2024 SS, Orlando, FL) picked himself up an RBI in his third at bat when he burned the leftfielder with a runner in motion driving in another insurance run for the Black Team. He did a nice job of using the lower half to go down and get a pitch at the knees and elevate it for extra bases with his speed showcasing well as he cruised into third base.

Nikolas Koorse (2024 MIF, Parkland, FL) came in for the final two inning on the bump with a fastball that got into the mid 80’s topping out at 84 mph. He also added a loud barrel in his last at bat driving a ball in the gap for a double. He shows good strength throughout the frame and it shows on both sides of the ball with the power he is able to produce.
