Orange vs. Navy Highlights

2/15/2020

Nicholas Rappa (2022 RHP, Kenilworth, NJ) showed some impressive stuff on the bump with a loose, quick arm and good life on the fastball that topped out at 83 mph. He showed good feel for a sharp slider that was best when he threw it with similar arm speed and intent.

Nate Kinsey (2022 C, Middletown, PA) had a number of well-struck baseballs from the right side of the dish with an easy stroke and jump off the barrel. Kinsey has comfort to the pull side with a line drive swing plane and some present pop.

Braden Connors (2023 C, Wyckoff, NJ) is a physical freshman with very good extension through contact and the ability to impact the ball already. He wore out the pull side with hard contact and has a smooth, line drive swing plane.

Joe Skapinetz (2021 RHP, Far Hills, NJ) is a physical two-way player with a very easy fastball that topped out at 86 mph and struck out six hitters. He shows good feel for throwing his changeup and also showed pop to both alleys from the left side of the dish.

John Rigas (2022 RHP, Lincoln Park, NJ) is very athletic on the mound with a fluid delivery and good sequencing. He filled up the strike zone with good feel for a sharp slider and arm quickness that should portend future velocity.

Mark Capell (2021 3B, Morganville, NJ) showed off his big arm on the mound where he worked 86-88 mph and lived in the bottom third of the zone. The breaking ball showed potential as well as he got a couple empty swings with sharp break in the low-70s.

Ty Sallie (2021 SS, Parsippany, NJ) is a good athlete in the middle infield and showed off his line drive approach. He has a simple swing with quick hands and had multiple hard hit balls to pull.

Matt Shuhet (2021 SS, Mountain Lakes, NJ) showed some opposite field pop as he worked a couple of well-struck balls to the oppo gap. He uncoils well into contact and the power plays to both gaps.

Bryce Collis (2021 RHP, Whitesboro, NY) coils inward and really unloads onto the baseball as he finishes his swing. He looks to do damage and can turn the barrel over the inner half to really drive balls to pull.

Chase Killen (2022 OF, Felton, DE) showed a consistent stroke as he got extended through contact nicely on a regular basis. Killen drives the ball up the middle well with a line drive approach and consistent gap to gap ability.

Jesse Alfalla (2022 SS, West Harrison, NY) has a balanced stance with some bat speed and a lifted stroke from the right side. He gets engaged on his back hip well with looseness and athleticism throughout the swing.

Justin Burrows (2021 OF, Fort Washington, MD) is another athletic swinger with fast hands and can work the ball in the air. Burrows has an easy swing with whip to both his hands and barrel.

Daniel Kanagy (2021 RHP, McAlisterville, PA) showed some big power potential with lots of jump and carry off the barrel head. The swing is easy to repeat with excellent bat speed and controlled violence to generate such impact.

Jack Lincoln (2021 3B, Lincoln University, PA) whips the barrel head nicely and elevates the ball while swinging with intent to do damage. His hips work well with good projectable power.
