Simon Tesfaye (2025, Henderson, Nev.) showed he has the ability to produce on both sides of the ball. The frame and athleticism stand out for his age. He is a twitchy athlete with moderate strength throughout. In the box, he found two barrels, including a base hit, and walked in his other plate appearance. The swing is short and compact plus bat speed that launches balls hard off the bat. The approach is geared toward the middle of the field allowing him to stay balanced on all pitch types. There is a simplicity to Tesfaye’s offensive game that is extremely appealing. He makes it look easy to barrel balls on a regular occurrence.

Sawyer Leifson (2025, Spanish Fork, Utah) was asked to record the final two outs of the ballgame and the right-hander did just that while showing off some impressive stuff in the process. His tall, lanky frame moved well down the mound. The delivery is simple and still explodes at hitters. His fastball sat 76-79 mph on a downhill plane with some arm-side run. The above-average arm speed generated some awkward swing from overwhelmed hitters. He flashed a curveball that sat in the mid-60s and showed late, nasty bite. It took off late, dodging barrels often. As the frame and mechanics continue to develop, keep an eye on the Leifson.
