15 of 20 Gold Glove Winners are PG Alums

The 2022 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners were announced on Tuesday night before Game 3 of the World Series began in Philadelphia.

Three players participating in the World Series - Houston's Jeremy Pena and Kyle Tucker and Philadelphia's JT Realmuto - were recognized as winners at their respective positions. All three of them participated in Perfect Game events as amateur athletes, Tucker being the most prominent of the three as a PG All-American in 2014.



In total, 15 of the 20 Gold Glove winners are PG alums. Five of them were PG All-Americans during their prep days - Tucker in right field from the American League (2014 All-American), DJ LeMahieu at the utility position in the American League (2006 All-American), Brendan Rodgers as the National League's second baseman (2014 All-American), Trent Grisham as the National League's center fielder (2014 All-American), and Max Fried as the National League's pitcher (2011 All-American).
