WWBA West Qualifier Scout Notes: Days 1-2

Zach Strickland (2025, Arcadia, Calif.) took the mound on Day 1 and did not disappoint. The UCLA commit put together a lights-out performance, allowing just one hit and striking out 1- hitters over five shutout innings of work. A clean, controlled delivery down the mound allows Strickland to get down the mound with ease. Advanced arm speed helps the ball jump out of the hand. The fastball sat 89-92 mph with tons of life through the zone. The offering overwhelmed hitters often and generated whiffs at the top of the zone. Strickland paired the heater with sharp curveball at 71-73 mph. Late bite on the offering gives it swing-and-miss ability when thrown well. It is an impressive arsenal present with projection still remaining.
