17u BCS Scout Notes: Days 1-2

Jeff Zachry (2023, Springdale, Ark.) showcased some serious power at the plate for 3N2 Sticks Baseball 17U Moyer. The left-hander has a short, compact swing with a small leg kick. Does a good job keeping the hips coiled and not letting his hands get too far back at foot strike. Uses his big 6-foot, 195-pound frame well, the hands are fast and gets the bat through the zone on a nice plane. In his second at bat he ripped a triple in the gap which knocked in a run, showed some speed out of the box and ran aggressively. In his third at bat Moore worked a tough at bat, fouling off multiple pitches before running into a low fastball that he put over the right field wall for a two-run home run. Big, physical athlete with good plate presence and raw power, currently uncommitted.
