PG National Brings 2023 Draft Into Focus

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Right on the heels of the 2022 MLB Draft’s completion on Wednesday, the 2023 draft crop takes center stage starting today at the Perfect Game National Showcase, held from July 20-24 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Since the event’s inception in 2001, the PG National Showcase has grown to become the most prestigious showcase event in all of amateur baseball. Over 500 alums of the National Showcase have gone on to Major League careers, including MLB MVPs Buster Posey, Freddie Freeman, Christian Yelich, Joey Votto, Kris Bryant, as well as many of the game’s brightest stars, such as Carlos Correa, Gerrit Cole, Javier Baez, Francisco Lindor, Manny Machado, and many more.

Almost 3,000 alums of the PG National have gone on to get drafted by an MLB organization. On Day 1 of this year’s MLB Draft, 40 of the 80 prospects drafted had attended PG National, including the first eight selections: Jackson Holliday (Orioles), Andruw Jones (Diamondbacks), Kumar Rocker (Rangers), Termarr Johnson (Pirates), Elijah Green (Nationals), Jacob Berry (Marlins), Cade Horton (Cubs), and Brooks Lee (Twins).

This year’s roster for PG National will feature prominently in the 2023 MLB Draft, with 92 of the top-100 prospects in the 2023 class set to attend.
