Erick Torres (2024, Hialeah, Fla.) had a nice day at the plate for the Miami Rebels. The 5-foot-9 right-hander holds his hands low with a subtle leg lift, keeps hands back and uses the lower half well. Gets really good extension with the barrel that allows him to drive pitches on the outer half of the plate the other way for power. Had a nice at-bat in his first appearance, fouled off some tough pitches and eventually turned on a fastball into the left-center gap for a single. Later in the game Torres drew a walk in a long at bat, showed the ability to lay off tough pitches and foul off them as well.
