17u Fall National Championship Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2

Antonio Gianni (2023, Cave Creek, Ariz.) put a well-rounded skill set on display throughout day three. In the box he utilizes a short, compact swing with solid bat speed through the zone. He uses advanced bat-to-ball skills and a mature approach to work counts and battle well with two strikes. Gianni has the ability to use the entire field and hit balls with authority the other way. There is some pull-side power there, but it plays more gap-to-gap during games. In center field, he showed off quality first-step quickness that allows him to range well in all directions. The arm is easily playable for the spot, showcasing on-line carry with accuracy. The above-average defense at a premium position and solid offensive skills make him a very intriguing uncommitted player.
