Parker Wight (2024, Virginia Beach, Va.) got the assignment as starting pitcher for the Richmond Braves 16u Platinum early on Saturday morning.  After feeling his way through the first inning, the 6-foot-3 and 180-pound left-handed pitcher settled in nicely.  Throwing a total of 76 pitches over his 5 innings of work, he allowed 2 unearned runs on 4 hits, surrendering 3 walks while striking out 4 batters.  Wright has a classic southpaw delivery, gathering himself tall over the rubber and creating a tough look with his glove side leading at a slight upward angle in transition.  He uses a deep arm path to develop his two-pitch mix and showed better pitchability the deeper he got into the game.  His fastball sat in the upper-70s and proved difficult to square up due to its natural run.  The slider was his best offering on the day with its tight spin and consistent depth.
