Marcus Beatty (2022, Independence, Iowa) is no stranger to PG events, as he holds a top-500 national ranking and has 23 total PG events under his belt to date. Beatty has been a consistent performer in PG events, as he hit over .400 in three straight weekends last fall and compiled five extra-base hits to boot. That’s why it was no surprise to see him producing at a high level yet again this weekend. He started off hot in his first game of the tournament, going 2-for-3 with a double, and driving in his team’s only two runs of the game. In his first at-bat, he drove one into the opposite field gap for a double, and then hit one sharply through the six-hole later in the game for a two-RBI single. The rising senior is a primary outfielder with impactful speed on the bases and in the field, and he is a highly quick-twitch athlete with present bat speed and barrel control. Beatty is currently uncommitted, but he will make a great get for any recruiting class given the obvious tools to his game and intriguing potential moving forward.
