Team Easton triumphed over PTA Cardinal 15U Cardinal on the back of a flawless, no-hit performance from Tom Ford (2024, Lisle, Ill.). Ford went the distance, tossing a complete game no-hitter while striking out 10 and walking four. He sat 78-81 mph during the entirety of his outing while touching a couple of 82s and 83s in the first inning. He also featured a changeup in the low-70s and a curveball in the low- to mid-60s that he used quite often. He showed the ability to fill up the zone with each pitch, including the curveball, which he could flip in for a strike in any count. His arm works well, as he utilizes a short and compact arm action with some young arm speed. The operation is slow and controlled and he repeats it well with low effort. The curveball serves as a change-of-pace pitch right now, and it will continue to improve and gain bite as he spins it harder. The right-hander has a long and lanky, 6-foot-4, 165-pound frame with a ton of room to fill, and there is plenty of projection to dream upon as he grows and adds on mass. The profile and ability to throw strikes is intriguing, and there is definite potential on the mound as his arm speed/strength grows.
