Matthew Makowski (2023, Charlotte, N.C.) wasted no time leading off for the Dirtbags 16u Gold as he smoked a double halfway up the wall. Makowski was poised in the box waiting for his pitch to hit and did not miss it. Makowski went 2-for-3 with a double.

Bennett Rich (2023, Clayton, N.C.) started the game for the Dirtbags 16u Gold and had a great beginning to his tournament showcasing a quick, strong arm that topped 86 mph. Rich was going right after the hitters from the start as he struck out four of the seven hitters he faced. Great start of the weekend.
