Tulsa Super Regional NIT Scout Notes

Andre Landeros (2024, Oklahoma City, Okla.) had a very strong showing with the bat all weekend long. Collected a tournament-high eight base hits, three of which went for extra bases. Has a sound approach at the plate and finds the barrel more often than not. Plays a solid defensive third base showing fundamental footwork and an accurate throwing arm.

Jackson Schanuel (2025, Newcastle, Okla.) hit .556 across four games in the tournament. Did some damage at the plate with two doubles and a home run as he showed the ability to barrel up and drive the baseball. Played all over the field with innings in the infield, outfield, and on the mound. Makes all the plays on defense with promising athleticism.



Bryson Mitchell (2025, Stillwater, Okla.) had seven total hits and overall hit .583 for the tournament. Quick wrists at the plate help him drive the baseball into gaps, leading to a tournament-high four doubles. Combination of approach at the plate and bat speed will help him continue to drive extra-base hits into gaps going forward.

Bodee West (2025, Delaware, Okla.) filled the box score in his team's first game of the tournament. Led off the game with a triple into the left-center field gap then slammed an inside-the-park home run into the same gap later in the game. Overall hit .462 for the tournament with four RBI and five runs scored.

Collen Dean (2025, Tulsa, Okla.) showed some range in center field with a quick first step and efficient routes. Athlete that can run, throw and handle the bat. Hit .400 for the tournament and ran the bases well. Has good reads off the bat and aggressiveness to take extra bases when the opportunity presents itself. Impacts the game in a lot of ways.

Cayden Schroyer (2025, Collinsville, Okla.) had an impressive outing on the mound in his team's first game of the tournament. The left-handed pitcher was in control throughout his five innings on the mound. Located a fastball and mixed in a breaking ball that helped him record six strikeouts while only allowing two hits and no runs. Throws a lot of quality strikes when he’s finishing his pitches on the mound.

Bryce Tapley (2025, Mcloud, Okla.) was the tournament leader in OPS, RBI and stolen bases. Had quality at-bats every time he stepped up to the plate and showed plenty of bat speed to impact the baseball. Had a double and a triple in the championship game of the tournament. Has developing baserunning instincts, including a read where he had a well-timed steal of third base. Big impact at the plate and on the bases all weekend long.

Rhett Winchester (2025, Edmond, Okla.) found the barrel frequently this weekend collecting seven total hits. Smooth swing that is under control and is on time at the plate consistently. Made all the plays in center field. Enough speed to make an impact in the outfield and on the bases.

Cale Duncan (2025, Shawnee, Okla.) had several quality at-bats this weekend. Shows a definite understanding of the strike zone and doesn’t expand very often. Hit well with runners in scoring position collecting four total RBI. Makes all the plays consistently at third base with quick reactions and an accurate throwing arm.

Cade Green (2025, Choctaw, Okla.) tossed six efficient innings for this team this weekend. Filled up the zone with strikes while also limiting quality contact. Struck out six batters while only walking one for the tournament. Has an in-control delivery that he repeats well on the mound.

Luke Beeler (2025, Jenks, Okla.) made a lot of loud contact at the plate this weekend. Had an at-bat where he hit about 700 feet worth of foul balls on two just-missed home runs before lining a single up the middle. Overall, he hit .600 for the tournament with three doubles and five RBI while also walking five times. Shows significant pull-side pop.

Riley Hurst (2025, Riley, Okla.) showed some gap-to-gap hitting ability this weekend. Recorded two extra-base hits, including an oppo-gap double that was one of the more impressive swings of the weekend. Looked comfortable in the box all weekend.

Easton Martin (2025, Inola, Okla.) is a high energy player that impacts the game in all phases. The switch-hitter had a triple from the left side in game one of the tournament. After that the leadoff hitter was patient at the plate this weekend finishing tied with a tournament-high five walks. Really runs the bases aggressively, which led to him being tied for the tournament lead in runs scored and stolen bases as well. Makes a lot of plays in center field look easy and shows present arm strength out there as well. Will be an interesting player to watch progress.

Conner Aumend (2025, Wood River, Ill.) had some quality at-bats this tournament. Collected four hits overall, hitting .444 across four games. Has a nice swing and will let the ball travel and take a pitch to the opposite field. Competes well, making some plays at first base and showing a solid, fundamental, all-around game.

Preston Giles (2025, Duncan, Okla.) had a strong showing at the plate and in the field this weekend. Hit .571 for the tournament including a couple of extra-base hits. Has some quick hands and a compact swing that allows him to barrel up the baseball consistently. Makes all the plays at shortstop showing plenty of athleticism, throwing accuracy and footwork on double play chances. Interesting player to follow going forward.

Austin Gibson (2025, Oklahoma City, Okla.) showed two-way ability this weekend. Utilized a fastball/breaking ball combo that was effective in his outing on the mound. Had some quality at-bats in the box as well. Competed well on both sides of the ball.

Jacob Wehba (2025, Oklahoma City, Okla.) really showed a feel for barreling up a baseball this weekend as well as some developing defensive actions at third base. Overall he hit .500 for the weekend, collecting four total hits with a few hard-hit outs mixed in as well. Quick bat that really accelerates through the strike zone.

Boston Knowles (2025, Purcell, Okla.) had a standout game in the tournament where he went 2-for-2 with two home runs. He also added two stolen bases on the weekend.

John Michael Howayek (2025, Lees Summit, Mo.) was impressive on the mound in his outing this weekend. Pitched his team to a shutout victory and utilizing an effective fastball/breaking ball combo. Hit his spots with the fastball, did not walk a batter and overall threw 62 percent strikes on the day. Seemed to alway be ahead in the count which allowed him to utilize a breaking ball and at times a well-located fastball to get swings and misses. Overall, he struck out seven and only allowed four hits in his six innings on the mound.

Jackson Johnson (2026, Tuttle, Okla.) showed two-way ability this weekend, really standing out with the bat. Four of his six hits went for extra bases as he showed the ability to drive the baseball with authority all weekend long. Has some bat speed and a lot of confidence in the box. Also pitched his team to a win in the championship game of the tournament in an impressive all-around showing.

Hunter Watson (2026, Tuttle, Okla.) really stood out on the mound with his performance this weekend. With a final stat line of six innings, zero runs, one hit, one walk, and 15 strikeouts. Threw 67 percent of his pitches for strikes. Featured an overpowering fastball and displayed impressive command of the pitch as he was hitting spots and filling up the strike zone. Very impressive looking young arm that will be interesting to follow.
